The zoo serves as a home to approximately 290 animals including monkeys, lions, bears, tigers etc. The operations of the Alabama Gulf Coast Zoo are managed by the Zoo Foundation, Incorporation which is a non profit organization formed by the family member of Joey Ward in 1991.
