To customer services
I write to give you feedback as a professional decorator, regarding my experience of annie sloan paint and equipment. A client of mine recommended your paint so I decided to try it to establish whether I could offer this technique to my other customers. I visited a stockist, was given a comprehensive explanation of how to use it, bought the recommended brush, paint and wax and proceeded to paint my dining room chairs. Using your brush which was like painting with a broom incidentally, and leaving the first coat to dry overnight, I applied a second coat. As the chalk paint does not form a stable surface, I found the second coat soaked into the first and as I tried to apply enough paint to cover the wood showing through, it pulled off the first coat and left a thick very amateur looking lumpy mess. Ditto the third coat. I persisted with light sanding back to remove the lumps, recoating and recoating until the wood was covered. I then applied the wax as recommended which has also left it looking very patchy. I am completely appalled with the amateur looking finish and as a professional decorator for many years, I normally achieve a perfect finish. I feel I have been duped into buying this product and am dismayed that I will now have to use white spirit and waste many more hours removing the wax and paint so that I can repaint the chairs with a conventional paint. I therefore request a refund the brush, paint and wax as I've wasted nearly £50 on this and I cannot recommend this product to my customers. Anne Linskill
