With the passage of time the company acquired number of medical store chains present in the world to expand its own business like it acquired the Tamblyn Drugs chain circa in the year 1978. Alliance Boots acts as the parent company for Boots since since July, 2006 when 'The Boots Company plc' and 'Alliance UniChem plc' were merged.
