Brief History
Citycell was founded in 1989 as Bangladesh Telecom Limited (BTL). In 1990 Hutchison Telecommunications Limited entered the market of Bangladesh and incorporated with
BTL and formed Hutchison Bangladesh Telecom Limited (HBTL). In 1996, HBTL was changed to Pacific Bangladesh Telecom Limited (PBTL), when Pacific Motors bought 50% share of BTL. The brand's name was changed to "Citycell Digital".
