Dorney Park and Wildwater Kingdom, commonly known as Dorney Park, is an amusement park, which is situated in Allentown in the U.S. State of Pennsylvania. The operations of the park are owned and controlled by a publicly traded entertainment company Cedar Fair Entertainment Company. The key features of the park are roller coasters, water park and many other children's rides. The total area of the park is approximately 200 acres. Dorney Park and Wildwater Kingdom was established in the year 1884. Its history started with the formation of a Summer resort in Allentown by Solomon Dorney. After ten years of establishment, the founder converted it into a public attraction and added several rides, children's games and a restaurant. In 1880s the park was renovated with the addition of few more gardens, a small zoo and various other entertainment facilities. In the year 1967, Robert Ott became the new owner of the park, who sold it to Harris Weinstein and eventually, its operations went into the hands of its current owner Cedar Fair Entertainment Company. The major attractions in the park include Cascade, Snake Pit, Wave Pool, Lollipop Lagoon, Splash Landing, Wildwater Rapids, Runway River etc. The park has been featured in various films including Trouble Follows and Where Angles Go. Dorney Park and Wildwater Kingdom has various lodging options for visitors which is just at a distance of 20 minutes.
