No Frills History
No Frills was established on 5th of July 1978 in East York, Toronto. The first store established with
Limited goods and also provided the basic customer service. In order to reduce the overall costs in No Frills, the customers were required to get their own shopping bags and to pack their own groceries. The store had less staff members and had just four checkout counters. Products were not displayed on the store shelves, but were left in the cardboard shipping boxes with the front cut away.
