PSO is owned by another electric utility named American Electric Power which is one of the largest electric utilities in the United States, delivering electricity to more than 5 million customers different US states. American Electric Power is ranked as the nation's largest generators of electricity, generating nearly 38,000 megawatts of electric power of which PSO contributes about 4,269 megawatts of generating capacity. Public Service Company of Oklahoma was established in the year 1913. PSO was previously working as a CSW Operating Company and became a part of American Electric Power when CSW amalgamated into it. The company was established with the efforts of Frederick William “Fred” Insull and owns number of offices in different parts of the state with its headquarters in Tulsa province of Oklahoma.
