The brand was created in the year 1937 by 'Bausch & Lomb' that is in the business of manufacture of eye health products covering contact lenses, lens care products, medicines and implants for eye diseases. Then the Baush & Lomb developed the prototype of the sunglasses in the year 1936 and gave it the name of ‘Anti-Glare’, which had plastic frames and green lenses that could cut out the glare without obscuring vision. The Ray-Ban brand got to fame in the 1950s when Kim Novak and Marilyn Monroe were seen Ray-Ban's Wayfarers sunglasses. From there the brand became familiar and many other celebrities were seen wearing its products. Over the years the company made several advertisement for the brand Cast many celebrities like Bob Marley and Bob Dylan. The sales of Ray-Ban brand products increased aftert the release of the movie named 'Top Gun' in which actors were seen wearing its aviator sunglasses.
