In 2007, the acquisition of NEON Communication granted RCN the possession of fiber optic network covering twelve states and resulted in the renaming of RCN Business Solutions as RCN Metro Optical Networks. RCN launched its HD services and high speed Internet services in 2008. In 2010, RCN was acquired by ABRY Partners.
RCN provides TV content in HD and digital format through its DVR. It has listed various channels of genre like sports, film, kids, news etc. RCN also offers Video on Demand of over 2,000 hours. It delivers Internet services over fiber optic networks and has the speed upto 110 Mbps. Its Internet services also provides email accounts, Wi Fi and online content streaming.
