Destination marketing Fee - I understand, from a simple Google search that the DMF is a voluntary charge to the guest/customer. I find by simply mentioning not to charge me the DMF, the hotel simply removes it from my folio. The Starwood group of hotels, although they mention I will be charged this fee when I make the reservation, as it is clearly in their script, they are not aware that it is voluntary and I can opt out. When I book hotel rooms, how can it be a little easier to remove this without having to explain this each time and/or be transferred to a GM, etc. Can you help? I book a lot of hotels and I think it may be easiest to include that in the third party authorization form. It does work with other hotel chains, when I check off, room and taxes, and type beside it to please not charge the DMF. Can this be incorporated? I look forward to hearing back from you

Last night (March 29), a worker allowed all the white people to walk pass him (as they entered the hotel) and he made no comment. When I walked pass him, he stopped me and asked, "Excuse me. Are you a guest here at our hotel?" I was mortified by such a question. I called him out on it immediately. I told him that I noticed that he did not stop the white people and that I was being stopped because I was black. He said, "That's not true. " I held firm and asked, "Well, why me and not them? I could be going to the bar. I am reporting this incident immediately. I went to the night time manager who was not helpful. I clearly was upset and he offered, "Well, I talked to him and see what happened. " I said, "I just told you what happened. What is there to see?" Another co-worker remarked, "Well, he is a young kid. " I said, "Young enough to know racism and stereotypes. " I was so enraged that another manager Sarah Taylor came out and she did all the right things. She apologized. She talked about what your brand was. She wanted to know what she can do to restore my faith in the product. I am utterly shocked that this is a "thing" still in 2019. I look forward to hear from you and I intend to post this reaction in several social media outlets.
