The Utah Transit Authority (UTA) is the operator of the transportation services in the provinces of Utah, in the United States. Its headquarters is located at 3600 South 700 West, South Salt Lake, Utah, United States. The Utah Transit Authority's establishment can be traced back to 1953, in which various bus services providers merged towards the formation of this organization. The Utah state government issued the Utah Public Transit District Act in 1969. The Uta was constituted under this Act on March 2, 1970. The UTA bus services covered destinations between Magna, Tooele etc between the 1970 and 1980. Later on, the routes covered under its transit services was reorganized to about 60 and its other services such as 15 minutes service were redesigned to cover 11 routes. In October, 2011 the UTA partnered with the Summit City and Park City to provide Express services between the Park City and Salt Lake City. Today, through its combination of fleet such as 146 light rail vehicle, 18 locomotive and about 600 buses, the UTA's transportation services network spans over several geographical locations namely Park City, Utah and Tooele etc. The UTA offers bus services such as fast bus services, pick and drop services and periodic services on the account of some occasion. Additionally, it also provides paratransit services for the people who have a disability. The Utah Transit Authority (UTA) is also a provider of inter-state passenger rail services through its light rail and the commuter rail covering destinations between pleasant view and salt lake city. The UTA also operates 400 van pools that provide the pooling services. People also have access to the trip planning services offered by the Utah Transit Authority (UTA). The Utah Transit Authority offers a prepaid payment option called Farepay Card that can be bought at its customer center or at a local shop.
