My Husband received a $50. Vanilla Gift card from our granddaughter for his 70th Birthday on 26th March 2018. As he has been battling cancer and not feeling well until now, he hasn't used the card until today. He tried to use it for $40. Purchase today and it didn't work. When he came home I rand the phone number on the back of the
card and spoke to a young lady. She informed me that the balance was only
$25. Eventually we worked out that the other $25. Was taken out in fees. This is something we were not aware of could happen. We think this is very unfair, to charge account keeping fees when there has been no activity on this account. I did try to ring the phone number For complaints 1800 571 1376, but was informed this was not connected. Our granddaughter is only 14 years old and worked very hard for the money she paid for her Grandfathers present. No one was to know that he was going to get cancer and we didn't know about the fees. Received card from cooper vision for contacts. Card has been declined four times. Your recorder says there is zero balance. I should have forty dollars on this card. Please help.
